I realize it’s been quite some time since I updated my blog! This doesn’t mean that I haven’t been busy, far from it.
Apart from continuing to explore new paper projects (some of which are not pop-ups) I have just completed a fun business to business pop-up marketing piece for a well known American household product. Unfortunately the agreement with the client was that I’m not allowed to mention it or photograph it! You’ll just have to take my word for it! The great thing about that particular piece was that I was able to produce it locally, which not only sped the job up, but mean that I could go on several press checks to oversee the printing and assembly.
In late July I took time off for a family holiday in Hawai’i in July but before heading out I met with Chronicle Books to discuss the artwork for the follow-up to Paper Blossoms. The paper engineering and costing for my new book has finally all been locked down so it’s now full steam ahead with the artwork! We’re very excited about this book, we have some very elaborate spreads in it!
I have also just received advance printed copies of the new “Yuletide Carolers” advent calendar that I recently designed for Chronicle Books. I will take some pictures of the pop-up for the next post.
