Posted by Ray Marshall on October 4, 2014 in Making Pop-ups, Pop-Up Book Events, Pop-Ups |

I will be heading back to China soon for another opportunity to demonstrate my work, read stories, and make pop-ups with the kids!   This time I’ll be going to a city in the north west called Yinchuan.  We always get such a warm welcome and great hospitality that it’s worth all that travel time! It’s […]

Recent Ray Marshall Activity

Posted by Ray Marshall on March 14, 2012 in Events, Making Pop-ups, Paper Blossoms, Paper Engineering, Pop-Up Books |

It’s been a while since I posted anything!  Apologies! It’s not for the lack of anything happening, quite the contrary.  I’ve been working on a number of new projects but I don’t want to jinx them by talking about them in detail yet.  I’ve just completed a corporate pop-up for a launch party that happened […]

The Story Behind Paper Blossoms

Posted by Ray Marshall on April 26, 2011 in Making Pop-ups, Paper Blossoms, Paper Engineering, Pop-Up Books |

A lot of people have asked what is involved in creating a pop-up book, or more specifically, how did Paper Blossoms come about? I wondered how best to answer that and then I remembered that I’d written such an article a while back but had never posted it!  So for those folks with time on […]

Paper Blossoms Release Delayed

Posted by Ray Marshall on March 1, 2010 in Paper Blossoms, Paper Engineering, Pop-Up Books |

The release date for my new back has been put back to Fall 2010 due to “circumstances beyond my control!”  This was a terrible disappointment to me, but it does give us the opportunity of letting more people know about the book before the release date.

One of the most complex pop-ups I’ve worked on is now completed!  The Tropical Spread features a Bird of Paradise, Heliconia, several Gingers, Anthurems, and lush tropical vegetation.  The white mock-up version is shown here but I’m itching to post the colored art pictures just as soon as we have pictures of the printed samples […]
